Best Ways to Improve Gas Mileage

Are you tired of paying so much for gas? Do you want to know how to improve gas mileage? Not only is it possible, but also you can improve these with any type of vehicle. There are many ways to achieve this.

First and foremost, you want to pump gas at the coolest time of day. This is due to the density. Gas is measured in volume not density. During the day, or when it is hottest, the heat burns a lot of the density away. You will get less gas than in the early morning or evening when the sun is down.

Second, you want to take anything extra out of your car including in the trunk. The extra weight makes the car weigh down. So take a load off and get rid of anything that is not the bare necessity.

Then, don't tailgate. Driving too close will slow your reaction time down. Instead of easing the brake you will be forced to slam on the brakes. This will also use up a lot of fuel. Leave a little reaction room between you and the car in front of you.

Last, don't be afraid to be the slowest to accelerate from a green light. Ease off from the stopped position. Too much acceleration will leave your gas tank behind at the light.

With the rising price of fuel, its no wonder everyone wants to improve gas mileage. It can be done, and if you follow these suggestions you will increase your mileage too.
